Two of TV’s most celebrated penguins are The Penguin from Batman (played by Burgess Meredith) and Tennessee Tuxedo (voiced by Get Smart’s Don Adams).
The Penguin was one of the most popular villains on the Batman TV series, which ran from 1966 to 1968. He is tied with the Joker for the villain with the most appearances of the show. The animated series Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales ran from 1963 to 1966 and featured the title character and his best friend, a walrus named Chumley. Below, in “The Rainmakers,” Tennessee Tuxedo and Chumley get jobs as weathermen.
