August 25 is National Secondhand Wardrobe Day.
The point of this observance is “to highlight the economical and ecological benefits of buying previously used clothing and accessories and to increase thrift store donations.”
You don’t have to be poor to wear secondhand clothes. Just ask Barbra Streisand. In her 1965 television special My Name is Barbra, she sings “Secondhand Rose” as part of Depression-era medley while vamping around Bergdorf Goodman.
