July 7 is Chocolate Day.
In this commercial from the 1950s, a young couple enjoying the Australian countryside stops for a bar of Cadbury dairy milk chocolate.
“Wherever they travel, they’re never very far from a chocolate counter,” says the tongue-in-cheek voiceover.
Is Australia the mythical Land of Chocolate, or does this couple just make sure to plan their travel that way? Like, “Oh, honey, we can’t go there, it would be too far from a chocolate counter.” Come to think of it, I can see myself planning my travel that way.
Be sure to watch the end for a catchy jingle to the tune of “Oh My Darling Clementine.”
