It’s Patty Duke’s birthday—the actress turns 67 today, December 14, 2013.
In this public service announcement from 2009, she reprises her roles as “Patty” and “Cathy” from The Patty Duke Show. Patty, the one-time all-American teenager, is filing for Social Security, and she complains about all the paperwork that’s required. Cathy, meanwhile, is one step ahead of her and has already applied online. That’s right, Cathy is still a know-it-all.

Patty Duke herself applied for Social Security and Medicare benefits in 2011 when she turned 65. The Social Security Administration even issued a press release about it.
“I had no idea this would be such a momentous occasion,” said Duke.
“All of us at Social Security wish Patty a very happy birthday,” said Michael J. Astrue, Commissioner of Social Security. “She’s a Hollywood legend and an American treasure who reaches a very important milestone today. True to form, she is the one giving us the birthday present by showing her fellow baby boomers the easiest way to apply for benefits.”
