Actor David Naughton (An American Werewolf in London) turns 62 today, Feb. 13, 2013.

In a series of late 1970s Dr. Pepper commercials, a jaunty, vest-clad Naughton sings and dances, exhorting people to “Be a Pepper” as a crowd of followers grows behind him. Saturday Night Live depicted the Peppers as a cult in a 1978 sketch.

“I’m a Pepper, you’re a Pepper, he’s a Pepper, she’s a Pepper—wouldn’t you like to be a Pepper too?” goes the jingle.
