On December 20, 1979, the prime-time drama Knots Landing debuted on CBS. The Dallas spinoff featured Gary Ewing (Ted Shackelford), his wife Valene (Joan Van Ark), and their neighbors who lived in a cul-de-sac in southern California. The cool opening credits are like a forerunner of Google Earth, giving a helicopter view of the cul-de-sac and then zooming in on each house to show the couple that lives inside. Watch and see!
